Sumida-ku is a practical, river-side ward built around east-side access. Kinshicho is a practical access hub, though it is worth checking the noise and the exact street before deciding; Ryogoku works well when river-side calm and central access should stay together; and Oshiage and Hikifune are useful when east-side access should come with more room to compare. Kinshicho, Ryogoku, and Oshiage are all useful when east-side access, river-side life, and room balance matter together.
Station convenience here can be strong, but the mood of the street can change quickly from block to block, so it is worth checking that directly. Compare Koto, Taito, Chuo, and Katsushika before cutting room size or budget.

Working with Tomo and his team at AtHearth made my move to Tokyo so much less stressful and so much more successful than it would have been otherwise. I had good Japanese but had never lived in Japan before and had an unusual visa/salary situati...
