Ota-ku is a south-side ward built around airport access, balanced with room size. Kamata and Omori are useful for south-side access, price balance, and daily shopping; Denenchofu and Tamagawa suit calm residential streets and green space over a central address; and Haneda and the Keikyu side matter when airport movement is a real, everyday need rather than a nice-to-have. Together, Kamata, Omori, Denenchofu, and the Haneda side solve different versions of south Tokyo life.
Airport access alone should not decide the choice — it is worth checking the daily station, the street, and the room size balance before committing. If Ota ends up feeling too far south, compare Shinagawa, Meguro, Setagaya, and Kawasaki-side options before dropping key room needs.

Working with Tomo and his team at AtHearth made my move to Tokyo so much less stressful and so much more successful than it would have been otherwise. I had good Japanese but had never lived in Japan before and had an unusual visa/salary situati...
