Chuo-ku is a central ward spanning Ginza, Nihonbashi, and the waterfront. The Ginza and Nihonbashi side is best when central office access and commercial convenience are the first priority; the Tsukiji and Tsukishima side works as a daily-life bridge between central access, food, and waterfront streets; and the Kachidoki and Harumi side matters more when space, newer towers, and bay-side routines are the goal. Ginza, Nihonbashi, Tsukiji, Kachidoki, and Harumi each cover work and daily life in a different way.
Ginza and Nihonbashi are convenient, but daily grocery routes and room size ultimately decide whether they work, while Tsukiji and Tsukishima make central Tokyo feel more lived-in with food and water nearby, and Kachidoki and Harumi should be judged by their towers, bridges, and commute rather than treated as the same as Ginza-side Chuo. Check central work access and waterfront options together, and compare Toyosu, Monzen-nakacho, Minato, and Chiyoda-side options if central rent feels tight.

Working with Tomo and his team at AtHearth made my move to Tokyo so much less stressful and so much more successful than it would have been otherwise. I had good Japanese but had never lived in Japan before and had an unusual visa/salary situati...
