Explore the approximate area and check your commute.

Itabashi-ku is a north-western ward for expanding the budget without losing too much space. The area around Itabashi Station keeps central access in view while widening the rent search; Oyama offers local shopping-street life with a more practical budget; and Narimasu is useful once space matters more than a central-sounding name. Itabashi, Oyama, and Narimasu are all useful when price, room size, and north-west access need to be balanced together.
A longer commute is only worth it if the room itself and the daily route actually improve, so that tradeoff is worth checking directly rather than assuming. Compare Kita, Nerima, Toshima, and Nakano before dropping key needs.

Working with Tomo and his team at AtHearth made my move to Tokyo so much less stressful and so much more successful than it would have been otherwise. I had good Japanese but had never lived in Japan before and had an unusual visa/salary situati...
