Meguro-ku is a calm, west-side ward built around daily life, where the Toyoko Line keeps Shibuya and Nakameguro close while widening daily-life choices, the Yamanote and Meguro lines are useful when Shinagawa, central offices, or south-side movement matter, and bus and walking areas make some good rooms easier to find by daily-life area than by station name. Nakameguro gives the ward its lifestyle image, while Yutenji, Gakugei-daigaku, Jiyugaoka, and Toritsu-daigaku are where daily life actually gets decided.
Groceries and cafes matter more here than station fame, so it helps to check whether the weekday routine actually works, and because Meguro has slopes and river routes, the walk from station to home changes the feeling a lot. When a famous station has too few choices, it is worth stepping one stop out — comparing Yutenji, Gakugei-daigaku, Toritsu-daigaku, Setagaya, and Shinagawa-side options — rather than dropping important needs.
